The vision of Oakwood was born.
TODAY…
Oakwood hosts both residential and day activities for schools, youth groups and more throughout the year. We offer a wide range of adventure sports, superb accommodation, and an outstanding on-site climbing centre; all with the same goal of seeing young people challenge themselves and grow to reach their full potential.

We offer a wide range of adventure sports, superb accommodation, and an outstanding on-site climbing centre; all with the same goal of seeing young people challenge themselves and grow to reach their full potential.
As Christians, one of the key aspects of our faith is the security that comes from knowing the love of God, displayed perfectly by Jesus.
When you know that you’re loved, no matter what, it gives you real security. It means you can take risks without fear of failure, because your identity and security isn’t earned through your accomplishments, but is freely given by God.
This is what motivates Oakwood’s vision of empowering and equipping young people locally.

Participating in outdoor adventure activities teaches young people that they can push beyond their comfort zones and rise to new challenges. Life’s demands can be especially tough for young people, and the experiences Oakwood offers help them build confidence and resilience. By facing and overcoming challenges in these activities, young people develop skills and self-assurance that empower them to handle everyday pressures more effectively

Using profits generated by the climbing centre, we have set up a bursary fund to subsidise access to our outdoor activities for those who would otherwise be unable to afford them. We believe deeply in the transformative effect of what we do, and don’t want anyone to be excluded because of cost!
We are also committed to reinvesting our profits back into Oakwood’s vision and facilities. So, by visiting Oakwood you are helping to create an opportunity for young people to enjoy adventure sports, grow in confidence and develop skills for life.
